The situation in #NITSrinagar is something like this- First local students uses cricket match as an excuse to beat up local Kashmir students and vandalise institute property. They brand Kashmiris as anti-nationals and wants everyone to say ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. Indian states intervenes and add fuel to fire by fanning the hysteria of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. Few days later, non localstudents clash with J&K Police in which students were injured (the police assault on non-local students should be condemned). Then CRPF replaces J&K Police and takes control of the institute and puts their weight behind non-local students. Deployment of CRPF further fans the hysteria of hatred against Kashmiris and the polarization. The situation in NITS is different from#JNU, #HCU, #FTII, as the question here is not merely about the autonomy of the institution but about the occupation and autonomy of people of Kashmir.
Not sure how to define it… as Occupation and Crackdown are not new words for Kashmiris, I think the situation is of – Occupation under Occupation! After getting beaten up in #UoH and #JNU, the fascist forces are left with nothing other than a cricket match to target NIT Srinagar!
